JayKayElle™

Legal & Intellectual Property

JayKayElle is the project and brand name for a collection of games, creative tools, stories, and recurring fictional properties. The project is personally owned; no separate legal entity currently owns it. The public copyright notice uses the JayKayElle brand name; it does not identify a separate company or change legal ownership. Ownership records are retained privately.

Names and brands

JayKayElle™ is used as the site's principal brand. It is not currently represented as a federally registered trademark. “Jay, Kay & Elle” primarily names the recurring character trio. Creekside™ Characters and Creekside™ Stories are subordinate property or series names where used that way; their public source use is still being documented.

Creative expression

The project owner claims rights in original human-authored text, software, artwork, stories, developed fictional characters, audiovisual material, and other copyrightable expression, except where otherwise stated. This statement does not establish the authorship or ownership of every individual asset.

Game mechanics, ideas, systems, concepts, methods, names, titles, and short phrases are not claimed as copyrighted merely because they appear here. The particular code, artwork, dialogue, and audiovisual expression used in a game may be protected independently of its rules or underlying concept.

Third-party material

Third-party libraries, fonts, data, source stories, images, and other materials remain subject to their respective owners' rights and applicable licenses. Public-domain works are not claimed as the project owner's exclusive property. Existing source credits and license notices continue to apply; the general site notice does not transfer ownership of third-party material.

The Stories library includes inherited tales and source editions as well as original and adapted works. An “original” reading-level label or folder name does not mean the project owner authored the underlying source story. Source and rights information appears with stories where recorded. Atlas, Astronomy, and History provide their own source and license credits. Some other asset records still need clarification.

Illustrations in creative projects

New JayKayElle illustration-expansion assets offered in an app’s creative library may be used, edited, exported, and shared as part of your own projects. This permission covers the project owner’s available rights and does not promise exclusive copyright in AI-generated material. Keep supplied credits and license metadata with editable project files where supported. This permission does not authorize redistribution of the standalone asset library. Existing third-party assets retain their own terms.

AI assistance

Some content and software may have been created with AI assistance, and some illustrations were generated with AI tools. Any copyright claim is limited to protectable human contributions, including qualifying human-authored expression, revisions, selection, or arrangement. AI-generated material is not categorically claimed as fully copyrightable; the extent of human authorship and applicable tool terms must be assessed for each work.

Scope of this notice

This page does not claim federal copyright registration or federal trademark registration, certify uncertain provenance, or imply endorsement by outside organizations. Ownership and source records are maintained as the collection develops.
