A new form can hide a hole. Keep the first rule and its domain limits. A Taylor polynomial is an estimate.
Solve two rules at once. Put ; between them: x+y=5; x-y=1.
How do these tools help?
Factor writes a product. Expand multiplies it out.
A derivative gives the rate of change.
An integral finds an antiderivative.
For x² − 4, factoring gives (x − 2)(x + 2). The product is zero when x is 2 or −2.
These steps are for this example. Other answers may not include steps.
Distribution calculator
Build a matrix, then use its name on the sheet.
Vectors & examples
Use lists for vectors. Try dot([1,2,3], [4,5,6]) or cross([1,0,0], [0,1,0]). Try A * [2,3] for a matrix-vector product.
Make a math program
A program runs your steps from top to bottom.
- Add a block. Tap its fields to set the numbers or rule.
- Use Show answer to put a value in the output.
- Tap Run. Read the output below, or open Graph for a plot.
3. Run & read the output
Run also saves this program on this device. Stop ends a long run.
Code guide & examples
Define numbers with a = 3 and functions with f(x) = x^2. Use print to show a value and plot to draw a function.
for n = 1 to 10 step 2
if n > 3
print n^2
else
print n
end
endClose each for or if block with end. Start comments with #. Programs run up to 10,000 steps and 500 output lines. They have no file or network access.
Using the calculator
Type a sum, like 1/3 + 1/6. Press Enter to get an answer. Exact answers appear first; decimals appear below.
Give a number a name with a = 3. Define a function with f(x) = x^2 − a. Select Plot on its row to see it.
Use ans for the last answer above a row. A name you define works on the whole sheet.
Select a row to send it to Algebra. Use its table or graph to check the result.

Keys & touch
Enter calculates. Shift+Enter adds a line. Ctrl or Command+Z undoes a sheet change. On the graph, arrows pan and + or − zoom. Graph tools give values without dragging.
About results
Some problems have no exact answer here. The tool will tell you if it cannot find one. Roots, fits, areas, and turning points on a graph are estimates.
